VC Star Guest Column | Solving Ventura County’s housing and school crisis requires all of us

Our CEO Linda Braunschweiger adds her thoughts to a recent guest column by Lucas Zucker of CAUSE, expanding on Mr. Zucker’s points that the housing crisis extends beyond the impacts to our schools and into, “a workforce crisis, a local economy crisis, and ultimately, a community crisis.”

Braunschweiger asserts, “CAUSE and others are right to say that housing stability is essential to educational success. And we can go further: housing stability is essential to the success of every part of our community. The solutions are already here — local trusts, land donations, innovative reuse projects, and strong partnerships between schools, governments, and nonprofits. What’s needed now is urgency and investment from every sector. Cities, school districts, businesses, and community groups must work together to turn these ideas into reality.”
